I’m Kevin Ligon, a retired civil servant, and I’m asking for your vote for West Hollywood City Council.

Throughout my career, I have helped television networks, technology companies, and the Department of Veterans Affairs communicate more effectively through television, digital services, and mobile technology. As a Program Manager at the VA Greater Los Angeles Healthcare System, I helped more than 75,000 veterans access online services and trained over 10,000 healthcare employees. Earlier in my career, I worked in marketing and communications, helping startup companies launch new products and grow their businesses. These experiences taught me how to solve problems, build consensus, and develop practical, creative solutions.

I was inspired to run for City Council by my neighbors. For the past 15 years, I have lived in an apartment building with residents of many ages, backgrounds, and perspectives. I have seen firsthand the challenges that arise in tenant-landlord relationships and the emotional stress people experience when concerns about maintenance, safety, noise, or changes to their homes threaten their peace of mind. Everyone deserves to feel secure in the place they call home.

I also see too many empty storefronts where thriving local businesses once served our community. We must do more to help entrepreneurs and small businesses fill these spaces, strengthen our local economy, and preserve the vibrant character that makes West Hollywood unique.

As your Councilmember, I will listen carefully, lead with integrity, and make decisions based on transparency, fiscal responsibility, and collaboration. I will work to strengthen our neighborhoods, support local businesses, and ensure that West Hollywood remains a safe, welcoming, and vibrant city for residents of every generation.

I’ve spent my career in service to others. On Election Day, I’ll be asking for the chance to serve you. Vote Kevin Ligon.
